This green beans and potatoes recipe is a super cheap meal that you can make for less than $10! You can stock ingredients in your pantry to have for recipes when money is tight, for easy potluck dishes, or even storing emergency prepping meals. *See the recipe notes below for optional ingredients.
415-ouncecanned whole white potatoes-cut in halves
228-ouncecanned Allen green beans-undrained
214.5-ouncecanned chicken broth
Salt & Pepper -to taste
Instructions
Cut each canned potato in half and place them in the crock pot.
Pour cans of green beans (undrained) into crock pot with potatoes.
Pour chicken broth on top of green beans and potatoes, and stir.
Salt and pepper, to taste.
Cover with crock pot lid and cook on high for 2 hours, or until heated through.
Drain liquid before adding to each serving bowl. Serve warm with a side of corn bread as a full meal or as dinner sides. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

*I also sometimes add minced garlic, if I have it. (You can use jar garlic or fresh).Also, for more flavor, you can add 1/2 pound bacon (uncooked, cut into pieces), leftover ham pieces, ham bone, or store-bought ham cubes in the package.RECIPE TIP FOR EMERGENCY COOKING: In a pinch, like cooking during power outages, you can serve this uncooked or unheated. (Just make sure you have pre-cooked ham if you're adding that.)
