Southern style crockpot green beans and potatoes recipe makes a filling cheap meal on a budget and easy pantry cooking meals to keep ingredients on-hand for emergency recipes. You can even eat canned potatoes with canned beans uncooked during power outages, if necessary!

Easy Crockpot Green Beans and Potatoes Recipe
These green beans and potatoes are a slow cooker recipe passed down from my mom’s recipes.
Growing up on a homestead in a large family, she said this was often a recipe they made from garden green beans and garden potatoes and could make it for a large family cheaply.
I’ve adapted it to make it as canned green beans and canned potatoes, also.
That way I can keep these easy ingredients in the pantry for emergency food prepping or even power outage cooking!
Ingredients for Country Potatoes & Green Beans For Recipes Under $10

- Garlic (optional)

RECIPE TIP: I often make this recipe with leftover ham. If you have leftover ham from holiday recipes, throw it in the freezer for use in frugal recipes like this!
If you’re looking for recipes for a crowd or large family recipes on a budget, this is a great one for that.
You can use this as a one pot meal on it’s own (we like to eat it with homemade cornbread) or as an easy side dish for dinner or potluck recipe.
How To Make Green Beans And Potatoes In The Slow Cooker
RECIPE NOTE: You can use 4-6 peeled and cubed fresh white potatoes for this (or if you have garden potatoes), but I put the adapted recipe for pantry cooking recipes here.
- You can use any type of your favorite canned green beans for this recipe, but I swear by these Allen’s green beans for this recipe. There’s something about that flavorful, flat green bean that holds up to the potatoes.
